Waste & Recycling

The University has a large number of staff and students involved in a diverse range of research and teaching activities and therefore we produce a large amount of varied waste streams.

The University is committed to the development of sustainable waste management practices across all of our activities. We stand by the principles of reduce, re-use and recycle.

We provide appropriate recycling schemes and facilities for the collection of priority waste streams – lab waste, batteries, cans, cardboard, glass, metals, paper products, plastic bottles, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and wood.

If you have a waste and you are not sure how to dispose of it, please email sustainable.campus@ncl.ac.uk and we will help you find a disposal route.
