About me

Choosing Newcastle

One word to describe Newcastle University – diverse. Whatever you fancy learning more about, there’s a relevant module. Whatever hobby or interest you would like to try, there’s a great society to help you. Have a question about a different country and chances are you’ll be able to find somebody to learn from. Newcastle University offers a diverse, international student body in the heart of the lovely North-East.

Studying at Newcastle

The teachers are all very approachable and always willing to go that extra mile to help and support you. Teaching staff are always up-to-date and the first to let you know about great courses, placements and opportunities for you to further your skills. The university is always inviting us to conferences with esteemed lecturers and telling us about opportunities to do courses abroad through the DAAD partnership.

Recommending Newcastle

Choosing Newcastle was definitely the best decision I’ve made. The modern language courses are focussed on skills and modules, which are useful in everyday life and great for preparing you for the world of work. The translation and interpreting sections of my course have truly inspired me and I feel sure that I will be able to carve a great career for myself with my degree.

Living in Newcastle

I love the location of Newcastle University. Newcastle is such a diverse city, where there is never a shortage of things to do. From a circus-skills training centre, to cat cafés, lazer quest centres and geek retreats, great museums and galleries, celebrity chef restaurants, loads of teahouses and gorgeous beaches just a few metro stops away – there is always something new and exciting to try. Not to mention the infamous night-life with our gorgeous cocktail bars, and the Quayside. Being away from home can be challenging but with the famous Geordie friendliness, you will never feel alone.

Student Accommodation

I live in The View, the beautiful glass tower building a few minutes from the University and right opposite St James Park. The Newcastle accommodation process is very simple and easy to follow.

Future plans

After graduating, I would like to become a translator and interpreter, specialising in medical translations.
