Subject Scholarships

A number of subjects and degrees offer financial support or prizes to students. Information on specific eligibility criteria is available from the links below.

Engineering

Engineering Excellence Scholarship - an award of £1,000 for new UK and EU undergraduates admitted on to a degree offered by Newcastle University’s School of Engineering.

Hodcroft Goodland Ventures Scholarship - an award of £3,000 for the first year of study, for those accepted on to an undergraduate Chemical Engineering degree programme.

Hodcroft Larsen Undergraduate Scholarship - one scholarship of £3,000 for the first year of study, for one student accepted on to an undergraduate Chemical Engineering degree programme.

John and Anne Scott Scholarship - an award of £2,500 per year for three years, for students accepted on to an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering degree programme.

The Wood Fund Bursary - Awards of £3,000 may be made for one year, with the option of reapplying for successive years up. These are available to undergraduate students in the Engineering degree programmes: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering.

Electrical and Electronic Engineering

E3 Academy Sponsorship - this sponsorship scheme is worth up to £5,000 per year for undergraduate EEE students.

Sevcon Sponsorship is a generous student sponsorship scheme including fee waivers and paid work placements for undergraduate EEE students.

F William Stephenson Excellence Scholarship - one scholarship of £3,000 during the first year of study, for a student accepted on to Electrical and Electronic Engineering at stage 1.

Mathematics, Statistics and Physics

Mathematics, Statistics and Physics Excellence Scholarships - An award of £1,000 for all new UK and EU fee paying undergraduates admitted onto a degree offered by Newcastle University’s School of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics.

Natural and Environmental Science

Science Excellence Scholarship - an award of £1,000 for all new UK and EU fee paying undergraduates admitted on to a degree offered by Newcastle University’s School of Natural and Environmental Sciences.

Music

Undergraduate Music Scholarships - four £5,000 scholarships are available to new undergraduate students entering a degree offered by Newcastle University’s International Centre for Music Studies. 

STEM subjects

Charles Letts Memorial Scholarship - at least £2,000 per year for all years of study, for students coming to Newcastle via the PARTNERS Programme in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects.
