commUNITY Life

commUNITY Life is for any new undergraduate or postgraduate taught student not living in the University student accommodation. It has a fully inclusive event schedule running throughout term time designed to help you to get to know your neighbours, your community and the campus more generally. These include various socials like quizzes, movie nights and cultural events. These will be remote for the first few weeks as we adhere to physical distancing – watch this space! You will also see that you have the ResLife module on your Canvas dashboard and you can find out all about us and the range of activities in the commUNITY Life module!

Alongside an exciting event schedule commUNITY Life Student Assistants (SA's) also provide a valuable peer support network. Running daily drop-in sessions, life-skills/hacks workshops and signposting students to the extensive support services offered by the University. So whether it’s getting to know Newcastle, trying something new, making new friends, developing life-skills or offering guidance and support; our commUNITY Life program seeks to provide you with fun opportunities to develop and participate in these vibrant student communities.

All of the events are offered via Zoom and include some social events with the Accommodation Services ResLife. So, all you need to do is join us on the Zoom calls by entering the meeting ID’s. You will find that you will be in the Waiting Room so bear with the SA’s as they will let you in to enjoy the sessions.

We can’t wait to welcome you to our commUNITY.
