Environmental Sustainability Policy

Monday 16 March 2020

In light of the ongoing concerns around Coronavirus, Newcastle University has taken the decision to cancel all non-essential events until the end of term (27 March).

This decision applies to events within Climate Action Week NCL.

While this is obviously disappointing news, the University is committed to taking every precaution to limit the spread of the virus within our community and to protect the wellbeing of our students, colleagues and members of the public who visit our campus.

Thank you for your understanding. We will look forward to welcoming you back to our events as soon as they resume.

Newcastle University's Environmental Sustainability Policy has gone through a full review. We have now published our new policy. The Policy applies to all University staff, students and interested parties.

Our Environmental Sustainability Policy details our commitments to improving environmental performance. This is an integral part of our Environmental Management System (EMS), certified to ISO 14001.

During this week, we will communicate the new policy. You can get involved by helping it to be as far-reaching and effective as possible.

Interested in getting involved in sustainability improvement at the University? Come along to the Action 2020 information session. Find out what you can do to help with important communications and operations and get rewarded for them.
