Tree Planting at Kielderhead

Monday 16 March 2020

In light of the ongoing concerns around Coronavirus, Newcastle University has taken the decision to cancel all non-essential events until the end of term (27 March).

This decision applies to events within Climate Action Week NCL.

While this is obviously disappointing news, the University is committed to taking every precaution to limit the spread of the virus within our community and to protect the wellbeing of our students, colleagues and members of the public who visit our campus.

Thank you for your understanding. We will look forward to welcoming you back to our events as soon as they resume.

Volunteer to plant trees as part of the Northumberland Wildlife Trust's Kielderhead Wildwood project.

The project is working on restoring an area of ancient native woodland at Kielderhead, Northumberland. You'll help to recreate a woodland ecosystem, bringing biodiversity and carbon sequestration benefits.

Go Volunteer is organising the event. You'll travel on the NUSU bus. The bus leaves campus at 08:30 and returns at 16:00.

Once you arrive at Kielder Castle, you'll relax and hear all about the project you’re helping with. You’ll then plant saplings from 10:00 to 14:30.
