Climate Emergency: What Can I Do?

Climate Emergency: What Can I Do?

Find out how to take action in your day-to-day activities.

In light of the ongoing concerns around Coronavirus, Newcastle University has taken the decision to cancel all non-essential events until the end of term (27 March).

This decision applies to events within Climate Action Week NCL.

While this is obviously disappointing news, the University is committed to taking every precaution to limit the spread of the virus within our community and to protect the wellbeing of our students, colleagues and members of the public who visit our campus.

Thank you for your understanding. We will look forward to welcoming you back to our events as soon as they resume.

In 2019, we saw a year of climate action and this momentum will only keep growing. You can take climate action in your everyday activities at work and at home to tackle the current emergency. Find out how and why in this bite-size talk.

We will start with why we all need to do something. We’ll hit some important themes with large associated carbon emissions and can be greatly affected by individual actions. We’ll introduce what you can do at work and at home, highlighting the differences between the two and discussing what the barriers might be.

This event is perfect for you if you want to do your bit to address the climate emergency, and want to know more about how and why.
