Climate Conversation Event

The Frederick Douglass Centre Opening Programme

  • Date: Friday 15 November 2019
  • Time: 10:00-12:30
  • Venue: King’s Hall, Armstrong Building
  • Hosted by the Sustainability Team

In April 2019, Newcastle University declared a climate emergency. Our updated Sustainability Policy deepens our commitment to responding to climate change. Across the University, colleagues have begun work to take action on climate issues.

Students, University colleagues and stakeholders in the City are invited to join our climate conversation.

We’ll visualise the University in a net-zero carbon future and discuss the changes required to get there. We’ll identify opportunities for working together in response to the climate emergency.

Hear from a range of guest speakers, including climate change expert Professor Kevin Anderson, on some of the key challenges across education, research and our estate.

This will be followed by facilitated round table discussions to further explore these pressing issues.

Refreshments will be provided at 12.30pm.

Register your attendance online.
