Past events

Global social justice: opening of the Frederick Douglass Centre

We have named our new state of the art learning and teaching centre in honour of Frederick Douglass, the 19th century social reformer.

We celebrated the official opening of The Frederick Douglass Centre with a programme of events.

Climate Conversation

Within the week celebrating the opening of The Frederick Douglass Centre in 2019, we held the Climate Conversation event.

It brought together colleagues, students and external stakeholders. They collaborated on the development of the roadmap to net-zero carbon dioxide emissions.

Following this, we launched our Climate Action Plan. Learnings from the Climate Conversation helped us to form our plan for net zero by 2030.
