Action Ecology

Many of our research interests focus on delivering targeted solutions to current complex problems.

We aim to increase understanding of how interactions and interventions can impact on wildlife and the environment with an overall outcome of informing policy and management. We are able to implement this through dissemination of our research through links to non-academic partners and policy makers.

Decision Support

Key to making good decisions about the management of wildlife is understanding the interface between wildlife and the landscape within which they live.

Our interest in this area is to further understanding of this interface and the implications management actions may have.

We adopt a variety of innovative methods, including Bayesian Techniques, Neural Networks and Structural Equation Models, to investigate system processes and to help decision makers by incorporating uncertainty and scenario building into models.
