Science and Innovation Audit: Offshore Energy

Newcastle University has contributed to a Science and Innovation Audit (SIA) that conducted extensive analysis of a wide range of activities across the broad area of offshore energy.

The SIA was sponsored by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). It was conducted across the North of England and Scotland by a consortium comprising:

  • the Universities of Durham, Hull, Liverpool and Newcastle 
  • four Local Enterprise Partnerships (Humber, Liverpool City Region, North-East and Tees Valley Combined Authority)
  • Scottish Enterprise
  • the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult

Tyne Subsea National Centre for Subsea and Offshore Engineering

Tyne Subsea combines deep water research, testing facilities and certification services to deliver a unique service to the offshore and subsea community.
