Staff Profile

Dr Kirsty McInnes

I am a plant molecular biologist by a training, with an interest in the molecular and physiological basis of plant-invertebrate interactions to develop holistic integrated pest management (IPM) strategies for use in agriculture. Of particular interest to me are slug pests! The subsequent benefits that these practices could have on the provision of ecosystem services and natural capital through reduced dependency on synthetic pesticides is also of interest. As such, I welcome any opportunity to discuss possible research opportunities to explore the fundamentals of plant-invertebrate/slug interactions or perform more field-based research on this topic.
