Teaching Rationale And Relationship

Teaching is primarily by means of ‘present in person’ lectures which establish a framework for learning. Students are encouraged to undertake independent research within an area of personal interest drawing from material introduced in lectures in the formulation of the essay topic. The assignment is supported by means of a group seminar where students have the opportunity to discuss their draft essay.

CONTACT HOURS

There are 21 contact hours.

The assignment preparation requires various points of contact (module talks and seminars) to introduce and demonstrate graphic skills for the analysis of a building precedent. This happens in parallel to lectures that introduce students to a wide range of approaches to architectural design and making.
