Aims
Digital technologies are a critical enabler of competitive advantage in organisations. The aim of the module is to equip students to understand the fundamental principles of digital technologies as well as relevant business applications and from there to apply them in innovative ways in order to create sustainable competitive advantages. The module will provide insights into the issues and opportunities of delivering value from information technology as well as to help develop expertise in using a range of practical tools to enable individuals to make a difference in their teams and wider organisation. In doing so, graduates will be equipped with the skills and ability to play an effective role in enabling organisations to succeed in realising the strategic potential of information technology.

• The challenges and opportunities associated with delivering value from technology driven change and digital business models
• A management framework for identifying, planning and organising technology driven change
• Understanding the business context, the drivers and priorities for accomplishing organisational goals
• Delivering value from technology driven change
• Capturing the benefits of digital technologies

• Designing an approach to managing change projects

Teaching Rationale And Relationship
Workshops will present the underlying theory with emphasis on choosing appropriate methods in relation to business needs and dedicated applications. Practical exercises will enable you to apply theory to your own workplace scenarios and real-world case studies. The workshop environment helps you to relate the taught material to real world business problems, considerations for designing digital transformation and managing a technology project.
