Clive Davies

Background

Clive Davies is a practitioner, researcher and advisor who has worked in the public, private and voluntary sectors.  He is Director of MD2 Consulting Ltd an SME consulting firm that he helped found in 2009.  He is a Visiting Research Fellow at Newcastle University (since 2007) and Visiting Professor at UNIBA, Italy.

His principle research interests are in green infrastructure planning, landscape planning, community governance and urban forestry. He has a long association with public policy development in the urban fringe and planning at the landscape scale.  Much of his portfolio encompasses urban and peri-urban areas.  In addition to his research interests he is course leader for Master's level courses - Landscape Planning & Sustainability, Planning Practice and Climate Change and Engaging in Information Sources in Planning.  He is also a leader of international trans-disciplinary training schools which bring practitioners and researchers together.

He has extensive international connections especially across Europe and has worked for, amongst others, the EU and FAO.  He is regularly called upon as a key-note speaker.

Clive Davies is a long standing member and leader within the European Forum on Urban Forestry (EFUF) and is engaged in COST Action GreenInUrbs.
