Self Issue

Non-overdue books may be renewed at a self issue unit available at the Law, Robinson and Walton Libraries as long as overdue charges do not exceed £5.00.

There are clear instructions available on how to use these machines.

  • Put your Smartcard under red scan light
  • Place the book (barcode uppermost) under the red scan light
  • Take the printed receipt with the due date and write the date on the date label
You will not be able to renew books via self-issue if:
  • you have outstanding overdue charges in excess of £5.00
  • the book has been requested by another reader
  • your smartcard has expired
  • you have reached the maximum renewal limit on that item
