Student Texts Collection - Advance booking Robinson Library
The Student Texts Collection is a collection
of Library materials in heavy demand or defined as
essential course reading, usually recommended by
academic staff, and is located on Level 2 in
the Robinson Library.
Items can be booked via the catalogue (you must login first) for a specific date or time. You may have up to 2 bookings at any one time. (You have 30 minutes from the start of the booked slot to collect the book before the booking lapses.)
As they are popular items they can only be borrowed for a maximum of 4 hours (less if the item has been booked by another reader) - always check your receipt for the due date and time.
You may borrow a maximum of 3 items.
You may book a maximum of 2 items.
Overdue charges
There is an immediate overdue charge of £1.00
plus £1.00 per hour
or part hour after that.
Items from this collection cannot be renewed.
Self issue/self return
There is a self-service unit in the STC so you can
checkout your own books (either STC or General loans).
Please remember to take the receipt from the machine
which shows the date and time the book is due back.
All STC books should be returned on the unit in the STC (not on other self-service units in the Library)
Books
Books are shelved in number order in the same way
as the books on the subject floors.
Articles
Photocopies of recommended journal articles or chapters from books are located in the STC. Loan periods as above.

Other articles copied through the CLA scanning licence will be available from your Blackboard module pages or the Reading Lists Online service.
Solutions
Some Lecture notes and tutor's notes may
be held in the STC. Shelved at the end of the book sequence.
DVDs
We have a collection of films in the STC. See the Library
Catalogue for titles
in stock. DVD equipment is available
on Levels 3 and 4 to view the films.
Review
of collection
This collection is reviewed each summer and
items that have not been in demand
or no longer on a reading list will usually revert back to normal lending
copies on the subject floors. Liaison
Librarians will contact departments as part of this annual
review process.
