Background

Gillian started working for Newcastle University in June 2001 and her team (the Curriculum Unit) joined the Careers Service in April 2006. Prior to this, upon graduation she worked as an archaeologist, and as a civil servant.

Roles and Responsibilities

Gillian is a member of the Careers Service Curriculum Team with responsibility for information management for the Career Development Modules (CDM), management of procedures for Safeguarding, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, and risk assessment. Gillian is also a module leader for several Career Development Modules which involves teaching and support for students as a module tutor.  Gillian is also an External Examiner for postgraduate education courses at the University of the West of Scotland.
