We were delighted and honoured to have hosted H.E Chad Blackman LLB, LLM, ACIArb, Ambassador of Barbados to the UN, WTO, and other International Organisations in Geneva here at Newcastle University.

The visit strengthened Newcastle University’s bilateral partnership with the Barbados Permanent Mission in Geneva and we are thrilled to be working on a number of joint initiatives with Ambassador Blackman.

Ambassador Blackman took part in energising, inspiring, and innovative discussions at our Blue Economy Roundtable, with Professor Philip McGowan, Professor Pauline Dixon, Dr. Clare Fitzsimmons, Dr. Elisa Miles, Dr. Sarah Coulthard, Professor Dickon Howell, and Dr Andrea Wilkinson. He prepared our students/recent alumni Jennie Anne Lester, Jennifer McCallum and Elizabeth Stride for their upcoming internships with him in Geneva, inspired both students and staff during his speech at lunch and met with both our Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Christopher Day and our Pro-Vice-Chancellor Global, Professor Richard Davies.‌
