Who we work with

Independent and collaborative Research and Development at NU Farms is supported through EU, UKRI, Innovate UK, Defra, DESNZ, HEIF, the Elizabeth Creek Trust, Hutchinsons Charitable Trust, and a wide range of other public, private and charitable bodies, with the farms annually underpinning >£7m of R&D funding awarded to NU across >35 separate projects (3yr average).

NU Farms also works to support a diversity of wider agricultural networks and their research and dissemination activity, being a LEAF Innovation Centre and a founding partner in two of the UK Agri-Tech Centre’s three legacy groups (CHAP & CIEL), as well as the N8 Research Partnership and the Institute of Agri-Food Research and Innovation.

We are also working closely with others to increase agricultural outreach in the region, using our on-farm meeting and events facilities to deliver networking and training events with, for example, the AHDB, NFU, Agri-TechE, National Parks Authority, and local farmer groups.
