Meet the panellists
Professor Tim Rockell (Host)
Tim is the Managing Director and Founder of Energy Strat Asia Pte. Ltd, an international trade and development company. He is also the Managing Director of Valuer.ai in Singapore and a Visiting Professor at Newcastle University.
Tim is a the Chairman for the Energy & Utilities Business Group at the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore and Vice Chairman at the Energy Institute Asia Pacific. He is also a Board Member for the Newcastle Research & Innovation Institute in Singapore (NewRIIS) as well as the Energy Studies Institute at the National University of Singapore. He is a Committee Member for Women In Energy, Asia.
Previously, Tim was a Principal Consultant at KPMG.
Jeff Adie
Jeff Adie is a Principal Solutions Architect working at the NVIDIA AI Technology Center (NVAITC) in Singapore.
Jeff has over 30 years of experience in operational weather forecasting and ocean modelling, combining traditional numerical approaches with the latest in AI techniques.
He has a postgraduate diploma in Computer Science from Auckland University in New Zealand and he is currently a doctoral candidate at Newcastle University.
Professor Cheng Siong Chin
Professor Cheng Siong Chin is a Chair Professor in Intelligent Systems Modelling and Simulation at Newcastle University and Editors-in-Chief for Cybernetics and Systems.
He received his PhD in Applied Control Systems from Nanyang Technological University in 2009 and his MSc in Advanced Control and Systems Engineering from The University of Manchester (formerly UMIST) in 2001. He also received the DCASE 2019 Judges' Award in the IEEE AASP Challenge.
He serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Access Journal and Applied Artificial Intelligence, and has received numerous grants and awards from MPA, A*STAR, and EDB-IPP.
Dan Lim
Dan is a dynamic entrepreneur and co-founder of Sigmawave AI, launched in 2023, with a strong commitment to advancing AI technology in Smart Cities.
With a Master’s degree in Management of Technology, specialising in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Dan’s leadership spans multiple ventures, including the successful launch of Blue Silo in 2021.
His strategic vision shapes the future of technology and business, while he actively mentors on platforms like AdpList and The Astronauts Collective, contributing to non-profit causes.
Dan studied BEng Mechancial Design & Manufacturing Engineering at Newcastle University graduating in 2018.
