Choosing a placement
I chose to do a placement because I know how important it is to have work experience on your CV. It is also vital that you partake in other activities alongside your degree in order to get a good job after you graduate. This was the main driving force in applying for placements.
I had a lot of responsibility in my role which I didn't expect as an intern.
I worked on many projects throughout the year, the main one being a sales incentive to generate a target of $200,000 of incremental revenue for the business.
My day to day responsibilities included order management for the running account base and sourcing stock to meet additional demand for UK and Ireland accounts.
Learning and development
Being on placement helps a lot with skills such as teamwork and communication, especially in the role that I was in. I also found it helped a lot with confidence.
