Culture, Communities and Sustainability Entrepreneurship

Date/Time: Thursday 5 May 2017, 16:30-18:00

Venue: Room 4.25, Newcastle University Business School

Speaker: Ewald Kibler, Aalto

Ewald Kibler’s interactive research seminar will introduce a cultural structure-agency view on place-based sustainability entrepreneurship.

Building on his previous research, Ewald will present nine propositions for addressing and discussing two interrelated questions:

  1. How national and regional cultural norms and political institutions shape the emergence of pro-social and sustainability-orientated enterprises (structure)?
  2. How entrepreneurial actors manage cultural norms and institutional arrangements to create sustainable impact and foster community development (agency)?
