Young Marketers 4 the North East

Date/Time: Tuesday 24 October, 15:00 - 17:00

Venue: Partners' Room 8.10, Newcastle University Business School

The “Young Marketers 4 the North East” is a project giving Newcastle University students the chance to create advertisements for local businesses. The introductory session will be on Tuesday 24 October, 15:00 - 17:00 in the Partners' Room, 8.10.

The project has three objectives:

  • support students’ professional development and improve employability prospects, by providing an opportunity to apply marketing theories taught in class to real projects
  • support local businesses' marketing needs (especially SMEs who do not have in-house marketing and communications teams)
  • offer a creative way for students to engage with local businesses and potentially develop a more in-depth and wider relationship with them.

There are two local businesses involved, Noveltea and Travelling Bee, and the project has been funded by the ULTSEC innovaiton fund.

Students will be able to form their own teams, and will be tasked with creating a 1 minute Youtube video advert and a 300dpi resolution print advert (20.5X29cm).

Adverts will need to be submitted by 15:00 on Tuesday 31 October and the awards ceremony will take place at 17:00 on Friday 3 November, in the Partners' Room, 8.10.
