Three of our leading Strategy, Organisations and Society research group academics have been awarded the prestigious Emerald Literati Network Citation of Excellence accolade for 2016.
Dr Robert Willison, Deputy Director of Doctoral Programmes and Degree Programme Director for Business Management, was awarded for his paper titled ‘Beyond deterrence: An expanded view of employee computer abuse’ which was first published in MIS Quarterly volume 37, issue 1 in 2013.
And Professors Daniel Muzio, Professor of Professions and Organisations, and Roy Suddaby, Professor of Strategic Management and Organisation, have received the honour for their paper, ‘Professions and Institutional Change: Towards an institutionalist sociology of the professions’, which was published in the Journal of Management Studies Vol 50, issue 5 in 2013.
Each year Emerald Group Publishing awards certificates to highly cited papers, relating to the areas of Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Economics and Marketing – subjects in which Emerald itself has published journals for nearly 50 years.
The selection process is made by a panel of editorial experts and is based initially on the citations being given to papers published in previous years, as well as taking into account the content of the papers themselves in terms of novelty, inter-disciplinary interest and relevancy in today’s world.
To celebrate the award all authors receive a certificate which will be given to them during a presentation in the coming weeks.
