Discovery & Developmental Biosciences

Fundamental discoveries that will improve future cancer treatments.

Four work areas

Our Discovery and Developmental Bioscience teams are multidisciplinary. We collaborate to provide detailed mechanistic understanding of cancer cell biology at the molecular level.

Cancer bioscience has transformed over the decades. Studies used to investigate whole tissues. Now we work on individual cells and the molecules within them.

Genetic abnormalities lie at the heart of cancer development. These abnormalities promote cell proliferation and evasion from cell death.

The interaction of cancer cells with their environment also influences their growth and metastatic potential. We work to understand these properties at the level of individual cells and molecules. This will allow us to find new ways to prevent and treat cancer in the future.
