Industrial Collaborators

Locust vision researchCentre members collaborate with a number of international companies and charities. We work closely with conservation organisations on a range of different projects that study the behaviour and ecology of our native species.

We also have established collaborations with companies and other organisations, which apply our discoveries and expertise to solve ‘real-world’ problems.

Recent collaborations include:

  • Reducing the impact of nesting crows on powerlines (a CASE studentship with Scottish Southern & Electric)
  • Co-operating with Volvo to design sensors based on locust vision circuits for collision warning
  • Informing the design of campaign posters for West Midlands Police to reduce crime using principles from evolutionary psychology
