Project

Many species of insects copy the bright warning colouration of aposematic species. This is in order to gain protection from predators by fooling them into thinking that they, too, are toxic or distasteful. The aim of my project is to identify what the key aspects of mimetic patterns in insects are. I want to determine how closely these must match their aposematic models in order to fool predators.
