This workshop brings together scholars working in a wide variety of chronological periods and geographical locations to discuss the definitions, experiences, and legacies of slavery.
Date/Time: Friday 12th May 2017, 09:00 - 17:00
Venue: Newcastle University
This workshop brings together scholars working in a wide variety of chronological periods and geographical locations to discuss the definitions, experiences, and legacies of slavery. They will invite us to think about what it means to be human and free and how the ownership of certain peoples (and not others) became thinkable from antiquity to today.
