The Faculty encompasses the largest and most comprehensive academic resource for teaching, research and commercialisation in North East England in the areas of engineering, agriculture and science, and also provides substantial services to industry in these areas in a variety of forms.
To manage the diversity of our activity, the Faculty is structured around ten academic Schools, two Research Institutes and a number of Research Centres and Networks. The Schools are responsible for managing discipline focused research and teaching. The Research Institutes, Centres and Networks are responsible for coordination of our foremost multidisciplinary themes.
This structure supports close interaction between research and teaching, including that between postgraduates and undergraduates which is at the heart of our academic culture.
