About the Centre for Innovation Excellence in Livestock

The Centre for Innovation Excellence in Livestock (CIEL) is a consortium of 11 world-class research institutes developing new industry-needed solutions.

CIEL is also a Government Agri-tech Innovation Centre.  

Our role in CIEL is to lead the Centre for Digital Innovation Applied to Livestock.

Centre for Digital Innovation Applied to Livestock

The Centre for Digital Innovation Applied to Livestock (C-DIAL) brings the latest sensor-based and automated technologies to precision livestock farming.

This purpose-built facility, based at Cockle Park, is equipped for continuously monitoring livestock performance, health and welfare. Secure storage and processing of the large body of data generated can be carried out at C-DIAL.

C-DIAL is a cross-faculty initiative between:

  • veterinarians
  • animal scientists
  • computer scientists
  • engineers
  • mathematicians
