Newcastle University

Postgraduate Study 2019 entry

Riddhi,

MSc Drug

Chemistry (India)

I was keen to pursue my post raduate

de ree in Dru Chemistry, and this

course was only o’ered by Newcastle

University. The course structure

and subjects were also in complete

sync with my area of interest.

Post raduate study is more

challen in but an excellent

opportunity to explore your potential

and develop your research skills.

It develops your analytical thinkin

and reasonin skills. The seminars

that had uest lecturers were

amazin – they ave me the

opportunity to learn the trends

and latest research oin around.

Also the tutorial sessions ave me

the chance to meet my tutor on a

one-to-one basis and remove any

concerns I had.

Newcastle is a very beautiful and

peaceful city. It has a lot of students

around so it is very easy to make

friends and have a ood time whilst

you are studyin . I would definitely

recommend my friends to apply

to this university.

Jonathan,

MSc

Agricultural and

Environmental Sciences

(Guyana)

What I most enjoy about my course

is the ran e of modules o’ered.

You can tailor your curriculum

accordin to your preferences.

I’ve chosen an a ro-ecolo ical

concentration with a mix of

modules that focuses on both

farmin and ecolo y.

As a post raduate student,

a reater level of discipline and

responsibility is required.

With assessments mostly by

assi nment and based on

real-life scenarios, reater critical

analysis, problem-solvin and

decision-makin skills are required.

The heavy workload on the course

also requires you to mana e your

time e’ectively.

Newcastle is truly an international

student city, which has allowed me

to meet people from all over the

world. My immediate aspiration

after raduatin is to find a career

in rural development and resource

mana ement in a riculture.

Kinsey,

MSc

International Marketing

(USA)

The MSc International Marketin

course provides a unique learnin

opportunity and is very relevant

to today’s international business

environment. From both an

academic perspective, as well

as an extra-curricular and social

perspective, I would absolutely

recommend my course to

prospective students.

Post raduate studies shouldn’t be

easy. However, with a stron work

ethic, much independent studyin ,

and a motivatin drive to excel,

the hard work is equally rewardin .

Lectures are lar e for this course,

while seminars are very small and

provide more direct opportunities

for class participation and feedback

from lecturers.

Newcastle University provides a

post raduate community unique

amon many other universities.

The hi hli ht of my post raduate

experience has been the opportunity

to explore the city and surroundin

areas with new friends. Bein part

of such an inclusive, international

community has been so much fun.

After raduatin , I aspire to be at

the forefront of the ever-expandin

industry of international marketin

and desi n.

Life

Studying a Master’s

course is a unique

experience and given

that it’s usually only

12 months, can go very

quickly. But the rewards

are limitless and the

memories you make

will last a lifetime.

Tariq,

MA Human

Resource Management

(Saudi Arabia)

Bein an international student

studyin at a post raduate level

was a bi challen e for me as it’s

a totally di’erent experience, but

I found so much support from the

University, especially the writin

courses and the friendly sta’.

In addition, fellow students were

really helpful, which made thin s

easier and opened my eyes to

new thin s.

Studyin here definitely provides

added value because of the resources

the University has to o’er. This

includes opportunities to volunteer

a

nd en a e in di’erent activities

th

at help personal development.

I

am a student representative, so

I

meet with sta’ to represent the

s

tudent voice. This has helped me

to develop problem-solvin skills,

en a e with sta’, and has been

one of my best experiences.

Wenzhen,

MA

Cross-Cultural

Communication and

Media Studies (China)

The combination of modules from

two schools is the most wonderful

part of my course. It enables me

to study communication studies

and media research.

I would stron ly recommend

the course, especially to those

interested in studyin more than

one subject area at post raduate

level. Althou h the workload is

obviously much more than at

under raduate level, the timetable

is more flexible.

The University not only o’ers a

ood environment and resources

for studyin , it also encoura es

students to et involved in the

societies and out-of-class events.

We can easily find di’erent kinds

of activities or job opportunities.

I think the people in this city are

very friendly; I’m really happy to

live here. After raduatin from

Newcastle University, I’d like to

work in media communication

or public relations.
