Description

This module provides an introduction to academic writing in English for Mechanical Engineers. It takes a discourse analysis approach to deconstructing texts to identify underlying structures and then focuses on key rhetorical functions such as describing Change & Development or Cause & Effect. Most sessions have an integral academic vocabulary section. The materials were written to help students with more accurate and coherent construction of sentences and paragraphs.
