Description

This module provides assignment-specific support for the first assignment that you will be set on the Research Methods module. Using the work you will do for this assessment as a starting point, it teaches skills which will be applicable for the academic writing which you undertake throughout the year, including: 

  • How to get started on the assignment writing process 
  • How to establish an effective reading process and take useful notes 
  • How to make a plan for your assignment 
  • How to link your ideas clearly and use critical language 
  • How to avoid plagiarism and use sources effectively 
  • How to establish a good academic style
