This module provides assignment-specific support for the first assignment that you will be set on the Research Methods module. It teaches skills which will be applicable for the academic writing which you undertake throughout the year, including how to:

• get started on the assignment writing process
• establish an effective reading process and take useful notes
• make a plan for your assignment
• link your ideas clearly and use critical language
• avoid plagiarism and use sources effectively
• establish a good academic style
