This is a non-credit bearing module that is compulsory for all students on Classics programmes in Stage 3.

The intention is to provide contact that allows students to develop and expand the attributes described in the Graduate Framework. At Stage 3 the module aims to provide opportunities to be engaged, collaborate and curious, in conjunction with goal-orientated critical thinking. and building both confidence and resilience. We also expect students to be future focussed and globally and culturally aware and demonstrate this in their engagement with the programme.

It aims to:

1) Deliver small group present in person academic mentoring

2) Support the delivery of final stage modules and heavily weighted capstone elements such as dissertations and dissertation research proposals.

3) Utilise high level academic and study skills

4) Create group cohesion and continue to support and build student confidence in preparation for post-graduate future directions

5) Provide subject specific academic guidance in relating to either Classics depending on the student group.

Outline Of Syllabus

This is a non-credit bearing module that is compulsory for all students on Classics programmes in Stage 3.

Final Stage assessment preparation: bibliographies, proof reading, tips and tricks in MS Office

Peer-to-peer best practice. Student-led sharing of ideas, methods, tools and approaches

Preparing for the future: CVs, jobs and post-graduate qualifications

Subject specific academic guidance relating to either History, Classics or Archaeology depending on the student group.
