16 Newcastle University alumni recognised in King’s Birthday Honours
Huge congratulations to the Newcastle University graduates who have been named in King Charles III’s 2026 Birthday Honours list, acknowledging their dedication and success in their respective fields.

Class of 2005 graduate Hazel Savage left Newcastle University feeling disheartened that it hadn’t been the promised ‘best three years of your life’. Now a successful businesswoman in the music tech industry, she has pledged £30k to fund scholarships on campus so students like her can make the most of every opportunity.
Alumni go the distance to support the next generation at the Great North Run
In September 2026, 35 Newcastle University alumni, colleagues and friends will take on the biggest and best half-marathon in the world – right on our doorstep – united by a shared purpose of supporting students on campus! Amongst them are alumni couple and half-marathon first-timers, Chloe and George Kelly.
