The Loyola Study Abroad Center

As part of our 30-year partnership with Loyola University Maryland, we've welcomed hundreds of students to Newcastle University through the Loyola Study Abroad Center

Welcome to Newcastle University

We provide personalised academic and pastoral support for Loyola students during your time studying with us.

Key members of staff at the Loyola Center are:

  • Grace Barker, Loyola Center Manager
  • Dina Schwartz, Loyola Center Coordinator

You can contact us at loyola@newcastle.ac.uk or stop by for a chat over a cup of coffee. Whatever you need while studying at Newcastle, Grace and Dina are always here to provide support.

Both of the coordinators put an immense amount of time and effort into everything we did […] They are also the kindest people I have ever met and were always there to help you in your need.

Alex, Spring 2024

All of my lecture and seminar leaders were absolutely wonderful and welcomed me with open arms. They were always happy to explain anything a little further and give me a helping hand.

Liz, Spring 2023

Every event was very interactive and always left me feeling more knowledgeable about our trip destinations and closer to the people I was travelling with.

Trips and travel

This is a unique opportunity to explore the UK and Europe. The Loyola Center organises around ten trips a year, ranging from day trips at local historical sites to weekend city breaks.

In addition to trips, we organise several social events and activities throughout the year. These events will help you build relationships with amazing people within our community.

You also have plenty of opportunities to travel independently to vibrant, unique places. Our Spring Break is a three-week-long opportunity for you to travel Europe.

Loyola Center trips and activities are included in the programme costs. Group travel, accommodation and activities are covered by the Center. You only need to budget for your free time.
