Parents and Supporters Guide to University Event

Saturday 20 April, 10:00 - 14:00
King's Hall, Armstrong Building

Event overview

It's not just students who need answers...

Parents, carers and supporters often have as many questions and decisions to make about the transition to university.

Our event will give you the answers you need about higher education and Newcastle University. We will also explain where to look for further details.

Event details

  • Date: Saturday 20 April 2024
  • Time: From 10:00 - 14:00
  • Location: King's Hall, Armstrong Building, Newcastle University Campus

Following a warm welcome and some light refreshments, you can choose from a range of informal sessions to attend, as well as the option of a campus tour.  This gives you the chance to tailor the event programme to best suit you.

We'll address the topics you need to know, such as:

  • Choosing a course and university
  • Navigating the application process
  • Student Finance, Accommodation and Wellbeing support
  • Career options and beyond

This event is aimed at parents of pupils who are currently studying in Year 10 to Year 13 or second-year college. It is also open to anyone who has an interest in finding out more.

We may occasionally use the terms parent, son, daughter, and child for simplicity. But we do appreciate that many of you may be carers, legal guardians or step-parents. The event is for anyone who fulfils a parenting or support role for a young person in the UK considering a university education.
