Art History
I am originally from Chicago, USA. I got both my undergraduate and master’s degrees from Tulane University in New Orleans. Outside of academia, I’ve also worked in secondary education and international supply chain logistics.
My research interests primarily focus on postwar American painting from 1945 to 2000. I am most intrigued by the transition from modernism to postmodernism. Additionally, I am interested in how art objects are treated by the art market and American society at large. I have focused a lot of my work in the past on the artist Cy Twombly and his oeuvre. By exploring how the archaic past can be relevant in the modern world, I have written about how Twombly’s paintings remain pertinent despite lacking, what many people would consider to be, ‘skill.’
