Estates
The University is currently undertaking an Estates Optimisation exercise of its campus that will look into matters like this. The initial plan is to create a clear road map for the University's physical space which will outline the necessary interventions to ensure the future estate aligns with the University strategic goals. The vision is to create an estate that enhances the current sense of place but works smarter by being more sustainable and being future proofed to support the needs of high quality education and research.
Campus facilities are spread cover large distances and it would be good to have study spaces with more facilities
Some buildings can’t be accessed out of hours
Limitations on operating hours for buildings are in place for numerous reasons including safety/ security as well as energy efficiency and work towards meeting the University's carbon reduction targets. Opening hours of University buildings are managed by schools/faculties. The Estates Optimisation study will support informing a joined-up approach out of hours provision.
Could commuter students be given access to parking spaces
Unfortunately as we're very limited on available parking spaces on the estate we're unable to reserve parking bays for students in a way that is equitable. However, you can see available parking spaces on Parkopedia.
