Presentation details: Colour: New Answers to Old Questions

How many colours can we see?  Can we quantify how similar two colours look? Do we see the colour of objects and lights in the same way? Is the colour of an object independent of its shape or the material it is made of? Do the answers to these questions allow us to draw inferences about the neural representation of colour? These are classic questions in the study of human colour vision. In this talk, I will review work from my lab that addresses at least some of these questions, starting with the first and building from there towards answers to the others.
