Brexit – some implications for UK environmental policy

If the UK votes to leave the European Union this will have inevitable consequences for the existing provision of agricultural produce and the rural environment.  Trade agreements would need to be renegotiated and there would be implications in areas such as animal welfare and environmental protection.  But there could be opportunities too, if farmland values fell and allowed some rewilding and extensions of conservation land.  In DP36‌ Dr Jeremy Franks examines some of these issues.
