Centre for Rural Economy Science City Activities funded by HEIF4

Jane Atterton was successful in a bid for HEIF4 funding (£34,000) to undertake a project entitled 'Centre for Rural Economy Science City Activities'. The project will build on the current Rural Business Survey to explore what the Newcastle Science City initiative means for businesses in the region's rural areas and market towns. In addition to further survey work, a series of workshops will be held bringing together rural business owners, University staff involved in Science City and representatives of business support organisations to design and implement concrete actions to ensure that businesses across the North East benefit from the Science City initiative. This project will also involve Carmen Hubbard and Arthur Affleck.
