WATERWEB sought to contribute to development in the Western Balkans by introducing strategic water management for drought alleviation and sustainable agricultural practices in the West Balkans (WB).

Research expertise was upgraded in the WB in a range of technologies for water and crop management. CRE critically analysed the water management practices and policies and provided a cost-benefit analysis of different water management strategies (including various irrigation technologies and crops).
