We enhance our research at Newcastle Law School through the work in our areas of expertise. We also lead several Faculty research groups.

Our world-leading research explores all aspects of Law. We work under the theme of Law, Innovation and Society.
We host several research groupings that delve deeper into the areas of:
- technology law and data
- constitutionalism and governance
- law and obligations
- environmental challenges and law
- business law and governance
- empirical research
- lawyering, rights and justice
Faculty research groups
Our staff also lead and/or are members of a number of Faculty research groups.
Members of the Law School have pioneered the development of the Gender Research Group and Children and Young People Research Hub.
Our staff also lead on the Race, Crime and Justice Regional Research Network. The network brings together research academics form all five Universities in North East England.
