Newcastle Law School Launches an External Advisory BoardNewcastle hosted the inaugural meeting of the Law School External Advisory Board on the 28th November 2012. The remit of the Board is to support the law school in achieving its objectives in a number of important areas including careers and graduate employability; widening participation and student recruitment; research impact and development; alumni relations; and civic engagement. Membership includes leading solicitors, barristers, representatives from business and head-teachers from a number of local schools and colleges. Andrew Carnegie, a partner at Clifford Chance and alumni of Newcastle University, has accepted the position of inaugural Chair of the Board. Professor Chris Rodgers, Head of Newcastle Law School, welcomed the establishment of the Board stating that 'it will help Newcastle Law School maintain its position as a top class institution where students from every background are supported to achieve their full potential.' Dr Kevin J Brown, academic liaison for the Advisory Board, stated that he is 'looking forward to working with the members in the coming years to further improve the experience of students at Newcastle Law School.'
