On July 23rd, researchers from NLS and Northumbria gave papers on privacy in the new research forum established by the two Schools. The Head of Northumbria Law School, Professor Alan Read, and Newcastle Law School’s Research Director, Professor Richard Mullender, opened the event and identified it as the beginning of a process of collaboration that they expect to yield highly positive results. The programme comprised papers from Rebecca Moosavian (‘’Deconstructing the Article 8 v Article 10 Balancing Exercise’), Andrew Watson (‘Privacy Protection and Data Protection: A Missed Opportunity?’), Richard Mullender ('Privacy, Public Bodies, and Welfare Consequentialism'), and Patrick O’Callaghan ('The Uses of Forgetting for Digital Life').
The next meeting of the forum will take place in September and will be on Environmental Law
