In the 2010 survey, Newcastle Law School was placed in the top performing group.
For the second year running, 98% of those Newcastle Law School students surveyed in the National Student Satisfaction Survey (NSSS) gave the Law School the highest overall ratings for student satisfaction, placing us as the top Russell Group Law School and the second best Law School nationally.
This annual, national, independent and anonymised survey conducted on behalf of the Higher Education Funding Council gives to the Law School the result of the assessment of our provision by those who matter most - the students themselves. Not only is the overall result outstanding but in each of the 21 individual areas that are surveyed, the School received excellent results.
This is our sixth consecutive excellent NSSS result in each of the six surveys to date, with overall scores of over 90%, showing outstanding achievement to the benefit of our students by all categories of Law School staff, together with our Law Library and IT support staff. In 2009, Newcastle Law School likewise scored 98%.
The result confirms our consistent standards of excellence and our reputation for giving the students first rate research informed teaching, assessment and feedback, academic support, programme organisation and management, and excellent learning resources. The result also confirms that we continually monitor, develop and refine our provision.
The 2010 NSSS result also reflects the excellent December 2008 independent Internal Subject Review (periodic teaching audit) report for Law in which we received sixteen commendations that directly feed through our activity into the National Student Satisfaction Survey scores.
