Daniel Boal and Joe Beeney narrowly held off York in the semi-finals at Dartmouth House (the headquarters of the ESU) yesterday morning in the highest quality moot I've ever seen. They went on to take the trophy in the grand final held in the Royal Courts of Justice against Liverpool John Moores University. The final was judged by the Right Honourable Professor (and Court of Appeal judge) Sir Robin Jacob, Roderick Cordara QC and Martin Griffiths QC.
This is the 46th year of the competition. Dan and Joe both with £1000 plus mini-pupillages at Essex Court Chambers. The Law School will also receive £1000. The win also qualifies them to represent England in the Commonwealth Moot (although this is only held every 2 years).
Dan and Joe worked incredibly hard and have done both themselves and the Law School proud.
