Interested in all aspects of competition law and policy. I highlight key developments and cases arising in the media through www.twitter.com/AntitrustNCL
Recent work has focused on different aspects of the interaction between competition policy and other areas such as innovation, intellectual property, industrial policy and politics.
My PhD thesis focused on the application of competition law in cases with an international dimension, and my monograph addresses international merger control (Monograph in progress).
Pending Publications:
Research Monograph "International Antitrust and Merger Control: Streamlining the Multi-Jurisdictional Process" (Edward Elgar, 2010)
Other Research Interest:
Examining the relationship between competition law and industrial policy in EC law, particularly in the field of merger control. Part of the research is to consider whether there is a hierarchical order to the objectives of the EC, and how this effects the relationship between these two areas.
I am interested in supervising research students on any aspect of competition law, including US antitrust.
